In 2007, South Pointe Hospital opened the establishment of a gold standard branch campus of the Huron School of Nursing. This new state-of-the-art facility features a leading edge nursing skills laboratory, human patient simulator, computer laboratory, comfortable study lounge, classrooms, offices, reception areas and plenty of room for expansion. The branch campus is conveniently located on a local bus route, offering students and faculty access to a viable form of public transportation.
The School, which educates individuals to become entry-level, nursing generalists, is an affiliate of the Cleveland Clinic. Students who successfully complete the program earn both a Diploma in Nursing from the Huron School of Nursing and an associate degree from Cuyahoga Community College or Notre Dame College. Its over-arching goal is to provide competent, caring nurses to meet the needs of the health care systems and communities of Northeast Ohio.
