South Pointe Hospital is dedicated to helping our patients get in touch with those spiritual and personal resources necessary to maintain a sense of well-being, faith and hope. Our Pastoral Care Staff is available to minister to our patients' spiritual and emotional needs. We utilize an Inter-Faith Ministry system of trained lay Pastoral Care Ministers.
The Pastoral Minister respects our patients' dignity and privacy. We do not impose our beliefs or religious practices. We are caring listeners who have been trained to help with the special needs of our hospital patients and family members. We work with the health care team so that spiritual needs as well as medical needs are addressed.
Anyone can request a pastoral care visit - the patient, a family member, your clergy, the doctor or a member of the hospital staff. Drop-in visits to patients' rooms are made as time permits, but we always respond to a request. To contact pastoral care, please call 216.491.7738.
Relaxation Channels
As a healthy alternative to commercially broadcast television programs, South Pointe Hospital offers two exclusive closed circuit "Relaxation Channels" on all patient and waiting area TV sets. Beautiful scenery and relaxing music enhance programs that are stress-reducing, educational and spiritual. Programming is available 24-hours-a-day as a service of South Pointe's pastoral care department.
The Inter-Faith Chapel
The Chapel is located on the first floor, South Pointe Hospital, Building B, just near the lobby. The Chapel is always open for prayer and reflection to anyone of any faith. Literature from a variety of faiths is kept on hand.
