Pain Management Center

Persistent pain, whatever its origin, can have a debilitating effect on a person's life. The emotional frustrations associated with pain can be as devastating as the physical discomfort. At the South Pointe Hospital Pain Management Center, our mission is to provide a continuum of comprehensive, interdisciplinary pain management, rehabilitation, education and associated services at competitive prices in a variety of settings.

Following an in-depth evaluation and assessment, we formulate an individualized treatment plan. Our patients are active participants in their treatment. The goal is to have each patient return to a more normal and functional lifestyle, rather than simply reducing the pain.

Chronic Pain Management Program

When pain continues for several months, it is referred to as "chronic pain". This circumstance can cause difficult physical and emotional problems, which may result in disruption in the lives of the participant and family members.

The Chronic Pain Management Program (CPMP) at South Pointe Hospital provides comprehensive rehabilitative treatment to persons experiencing chronic pain. The goal is to minimize the effects of the pain on function and lifestyle and to return the participant to work, when appropriate, and an improved quality of life.

The Chronic Pain Management Program is a five-day per week comprehensive program lasting an average of four to six weeks. The management of chronic pain is most effectively treated by an interdisciplinary team. This team will assist the participant with the medical, psychological, rehabilitative and educational aspects of chronic pain management. For more information call (216) 491-7052.
