At South Pointe Hospital, we are pleased to announce that we have redesigned and remodeled our ED lobby and triage areas as we continue to put our patients first. A medical staff member is now available at the entrance of the ED to greet patients and to begin the triage process immediately by understanding the reason for the ED visit and the severity of each person’s illness or injury. A physician assistant is also available in the triage area during the busy hours to care for patient with minor medical problems. The goal is to make the ED visit faster for patients with minor illnesses and injuries as they can be discharged from this area.

In all, the new design and process changes have helped to decrease the time patients are in the ED and further enhance the patient experience.
